"Dear Lucy,  I'm writing to thank you for your excellent talk to our gardening club on Tuesday. I have had much positive feedback from our members and requests to have you back as soon as we can for the part two of your 'border' talk. It was fascinating and inspiring to hear and see your your designer's eye and technique in how to create fabulous borders.  Your photos were just lovely and wow, you showed us some beautiful borders. Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions and hear our comments, despite us running late due to our technological issues.  Your patience, professionalism, and fascinating talk turned a dull Tuesday evening into an evening of enjoyable learning.

".. I look forward (very much!) to seeing the fruits of your labours in the Spring. I'm so pleased with the design and the flow that you've brought to the garden. It has a lovely feel to it and I really appreciate all the careful thought and time and hard work that you put in, thank you :-). It's also been a real joy to watch the process unfold and to know that it is in safe hands.."
I am so grateful for all the life and colour and interest you've brought into my little world. I loved the garden even before you got stuck in but now, it is bursting with plants that connect me to cherished memories and is filled with potential to be realised over decades to come. It's wonderful. It's also been a real pleasure working with you, thank you!

"Lucy is a brilliant garden designer and I would highly recommmend her. She is really flexible in what she offers from a single session helping shape ideas to coming up with full garden plans. We started working with her by just having an initial brainstorm, but were so impressed with her ideas that we commissioned her to draw up full plans for our garden. She helped us reuse a lot of the materials and plants already in the garden and create a natural-feeling low-ish maintenance space where the kids could also explore and play. Fair price also for the service offered."

"I can't tell you how lovely it has been to find a gardener like yourself who appreciates jumbly gardens such as mine and I have really benefited from your knowledge and enthusiasm"

"..Lucy listened and was totally interested in my thoughts for the garden and my main desire of taking away the characterless look of a long, narrow strip....Lucy included my existing plants into the planting scheme...We had to wait for the spring to do the most exciting part, the planting. I wanted Lucy to do this and I helped. I now have a garden that fits all my original wishes. Lucy is very qualified - structured in approach...A delightful person who is doing a job which is her passion."

"..I hope from my rambling you can construct a piece showing my utter satisfaction with you and your work."

J S, Warwick

"From initial Consultation through to completion of my wildlife pond Lucy has been a pleasure to work with. She listened to my initial request, and when the pond was finally finished it was exactly as I'd envisaged. She involved me at every stage and ensured that I was happy with it....The result is perfect! She has also left me a detailed plant list and maintenance suggestions that will be invaluable in the future."
J S, Stoneleigh
"Thank you so much again for the new design in my garden. It's so imaginatively thought out and has evolved as you worked so that now it is charming and just what I wanted.
I love it.

"..We contacted 2 or 3 garden designers but chose Lucy because she seemed really interested in our project, she listened to what we wanted and asked all the right questions about how we used our garden, she showed us her portfolio so she could get an idea of what we liked and disliked. She came back with a stunning design full of interest and shapes. We felt that she had fulfilled her brief fully. What impressed us was that she had really thought about the sun and created areas for different times of day..... We now have a plan to work to, and although it is going to take us a while to achieve it we think inviting Lucy to help us has given us a clear direction and was excellent value for money."

P & J, Stratford upon Avon
"Lucy's design certainly fulfilled the brief. I was very impressed with how Lucy could look at a very overgrown area badly in need of renovation and produce a design using sweeping curves and organic shapes, working round some mature trees and an overgrown stream. Lucy then helped to turn the design into reality, visiting salvage yards to source recycled materials as well as sourcing plants from local nurseries. Lucy worked closely with Warwickshire Wildlife Trust staff and volunteers in all weathers to create a beautiful and inspiring garden."

"Thank you very much for the garden ideas you sent me.  I very much enjoyed sharing our garden with you and have looked closely at your drawings. It has certainly helped us both to visualise what your are suggesting when we looked at your overlays.

They are well worth it.."
C Anderson, Claverdon
"Lucy Hartley has a passion for planting that makes even the most reluctant excited about their garden. Her calm reassuring manner and friendly charm makes the whole process so easy and enjoyable.I'll never forget seeing her crouched down in the pouring rain finishing off a border and thinking that most people would not even have turned up! I look forward to my spring border and summer border bursting into life!"

R Lawrence, Warwickshire
"We had a very small, exposed garden with non-thriving lawn and box hedge. Lucy has helped us transform this into an area full of interest which also incorporates all the practical considerations we asked her to take on board. She has always been a great pleasure to communicate with, and worked enthusiastically to produce both a design and planting plan that fitted our dreams, needs and budget...In short we are delighted with what she has produced for us."

J & L Thomas, Harbury
"It was brilliant to find someone who is knowledgable, friendly and helpful to sort out the problem with my garden. Lucy's approach was totally professional from the initial design, consultation, obtaining plants, planting and aftercare. I had requested the appearance of the garden to look larger, low maintenance and more colour/greenery. The transformation at the end was amazing. Larger appearance to garden and all year round colour. A beautiful place to enjoy and relax in. The best value for money I have spent. I have no hesitation in recommending Lucy to transform your garden."

L. Hall, Wellesbourne
"We asked Lucy to 'freshen up' our garden design which had become very overgrown with too many trees and large shrubs. She was very knowledgeable about what we currently had as well as what would be a suitable replacement. She worked very hard herself and gave precise instructions to the tree surgeons. The plans produced and the aftercare instructions are very helpful."

G. Clifford, Kenilworth
"Lucy came to our rescue last July, quickly and competently transforming our bleak view of empty pots and withered plants into 2 lovely balcony gardens - a profusion of flowers, of colours and scents - that remained a pleasure to look at and sit amongst really until the advent of the winter snow and ice......We have absolute confidence in Lucy's knowledge and ability and are just grateful that someone who has recently finished a "stunning design for the new sensory garden" at Warwickshire Wildlife's Brandon Marsh is willing to bring the same expertise and enthusiasm to such a very different undertaking!"

S Siewert, Warwick
"Just to let you know how pleased I am with the rejuvenation of my garden....it was great to find such an excellent plants person, who takes such painstaking care, and whose brilliant combination of scientific knowledge, vision and creativity make the whole process so enjoyable, and produce such beautiful results. Thank you!"

A Gibson, Claverdon
"The attention to detail and vision was excellent and enabled two non gardeners such as ourselves to picture the finished article..We are delighted at how good the garden is now looking...You have inspired us both and helped us understand some of the rudiments of landscaping a garden. Thank you also for your continued support, guidance and advice answering our many post-project questions."

F & C Horton, Stratford upon Avon
"..by the removal of some plants, splitting and pruning and the planting of approximately forty plants and bushes plus spring bulbs, the colour and balance had dramatically improved. I get a lot of pleasure from the compliments of friends and relations who admire it. I have recommended Lucy to a friend and would have no hesitation in doing so again to anyone interested"

B L Cox, Wellesbourne, Warwick.
"Lucy is a very helpful, knowledgeable and cooperative person. She has designed and managed the transformation of our back garden from grass and scrub to a visual delight. Her design proposal was built on discussions about our requirements and with her guidance and advice has been a partnership from start to finish. Lucy is well organised and her attention to detail and planning is excellent. The project has been well delivered and we are very happy with the result. We now have a garden we can enjoy and maintain thanks to Lucy's vision and dedication.
We have no hesitation in recommending Lucy to any prospective future clients."

T & A Granelly, Wellesbourne, Warwick.
"Thank you for the inspired and creative ideas that you put together for our garden. I would never have thought of using the space that way and feel it will open up a previously wasted sunny area. Thank you also for the preparation and planting work you carried out...The difference is amazing."

M Richardson, Nailsea, Bristol
"We have known Lucy since 1998 and when our garden became too much for my husband Lucy came to help. Since then she has taken over developing and maintaining....We can rely on her to do a good job and would not hesitate to recommend her. She is also very pleasant and willing to help"
